Stop in, look around, have a drink and crank some tunes. I'll be posting some songs ripped from records, some out of print and hard to find stuff, some songs by artists you should be listening to, and a few mixes here and there.
I have got so many new and cool records lately that I just have to start sharing them again. I going to try and aim for September. Probably just one or two albums a month so don't get too excited. Thanks for checking back.
Hey everyone. Any and all links that are still working for downloads, won't be working much longer. The host is moving his servers and they will be going bye-bye. I really don't have the time to keep this blog going (as if you hadn't noticed). It has been GREAT. I will be posting here again someday. I know I'll get the bug to starting posting albums again sometime. If you do see something here you really have to have, drop me a line and I'll get it for you. Signing off. Brainwerk has left the building.
Those crazy kids and their arcades... What's next? Video games in the home? Listen up on eight tracks giving you tips to beat your favorite games including; Donkey Kong, Ms. Pac-Man, Defender and Tempest. This is pretty funny actually. Especially the narrator trying to explain the Pac-Man path to complete the stage. Great sound bytes. Enjoy.
Hey everyone! Keeping up with my break-neck pace of one album a month seems to have gotten away from me. In the next few days I'll be posting my June and July record rips. Up first is the soundtrack from Kung Fu. This is one of my favorite albums covers of all. Simple yet powerful. The flute on the record gets a little old. The highlights are definitely the David Carradine soundbytes.
Everybody put out a disco album so why not Ann-Margret? Dolly did it. Telly did it. Even Kiss put out I Was Made For Loving You with a disco beat. Here is Ann-Margret's self titled 5 track album from 1980. Pretty much the tail end of the disco era. I hope you enjoy it.
I'm really sorry this took so long my friends. This one was promised way back in August...
Here is some classic Ted Knight at his hammiest (Is that a word?). This record is set in his Mary Tyler Moore era, and I have to admit that I'm more of a Caddyshack/Too Close For Comfort kind of guy... Ted Knight is the master of the nervous laugh and played the uptight/smug roll as good as anyone else in the business. Enjoy.
Hi guys. Anyone still check back here? Probably not. I didn't plan on it, but ended up taking the winter off. Life has been busy and things change. I no longer have the time to post multiple albums every week like I have done in years past. Starting April 1st I'm going to throw up one of my favorite albums on the first of the month. I hope you enjoy them.
Merry Christmas everyone! Another season and come and gone. Where does the time go. There were more albums to post but I just couldn't find the time this year. I didn't even get time to surf around and see what everyone else posted. I'm going to take this week off of posting and see if I can grabs some albums others have posted. Make sure you check back next Christmas (and throughout the year) for more gems. I'll hit it hard next Christmas. I'll have the Ted Knight album up right after the new year. I promise.
If you are ever in the Twin Cities at Christmas time, you must check out Trailer Trash's Trashy Little X-Mas show. They are a blast. Before kids I'd go see these guys every Wednesday night. Now I just see them when I can, and it's not enough. Here is two clips from their kids Christmas show recorded last weekend.
I was in the process of ripping this album in when I gave up. There was just too much dust damage on the records. It was from The Great One, Jackie Gleason. It was 20 Instrumentals called All I Want For Christmas. Still one of the all time best covers...
Listen up holiday loungers. Dim the lights, mix a drink, light the fire and grab that special someone. Here are the original swingers - Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gorme and a classic Christmas record called That Holiday Feeling! No swanky Christmas music collection is complete without it. STEVE LAWRENCE & EYDIE GORME :: THAT HOLIDAY FEELING!
Two riveting stories starring Scooby-Doo and the gang. These are great. I've always been a Scooby-Doo fan and these stories have the real voice actors as the cartoons. Enjoy!
As I explained yesterday, I bought this radio station promo record last weekend. It is a double album. Many people/bands that I don't know, but many are well known. The stand-outs are Pee-Wee Herman, George Harrison (as Nelson Wilbury) & REM. Think 1988 when you listen to the music. Here is the track listing.

Hey everyone. I was at a record show this weekend. I was really hoping to find some dusty old hard to find Christmas records to post for you all. I didn't find much but I didn't find this. It is a record from Warner Brothers that I'm guessing was sent only to radio stations. It has some great songs and some holiday greetings on it. A lot of unknowns, but also had Pee-Wee! I knew these existed, but I never knew where they were from. They are great. I only wish they were longer. I posted some clips from Pee-Wee's Christmas Special last year. PEE-WEE HERMAN :: CHRISTMAS MEDLEY & DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE, DUH!
I'll post the rest of the album in a bit. I was just too excited and had to post these. Other mentionable songs by REM, Los Lobos, Throwing Muses and holiday greetings from Lou Reed, Julie Brown, ZZ Top and Nelson Wilbury (George Harrison).
Here is another album to file next to Yuletide Disco. It's called Christmas Disco Party. Maybe I'm blind, but I can't find the name of the artist on this. I realize they hire studio musicians for these, but they usually at least slap a band name on them. My favorite song is All I Want For Christmas Is A Disco Beat. Some songs are real stinkers though.
Here is another request. Christmas with Hank Snow. Click on album cover and follow link. There is a deluxe Hank Snow Christmas CD out that I want to get. Not sure of the tracks because Amazon did not include them on their site. Anyone have details on this? Recommendations?
“It is really important that the people who kids look up to as role models are in good shape, eating well and getting exercise. It is absolutely critical,” acting U.S. Surgeon General Rear Adm. Steven K. Galson said in an interview after a presentation on obesity at the Boston Children’s Museum. Read story here.
I have to say I'm suprised that so many people asked me to post this entire album. It is the 1981 soundtrack to a Christmas special with Jim Nabors, Carol Burnett, The Brothers Cazimero & The Honolulu Boy Choir. I had posted a few songs last year, but here is the whole thing.
If you download a song that you like, support the artist. My objective here is not to distribute free music. It is to introduce people to new artists and songs.
A BIG thanks to Bill.
Without his kick-ass record collection, none of this would be possible.
